Comparison of Conventional RG Theory with Lattice Data for the 4d Ising Model
نویسندگان
چکیده
Predictions for (φ)4 theory from renormalization-group-improved perturbation theory, as formulated by Lüscher and Weisz, are compared to published data from lattice Monte-Carlo simulations of the 4-dimensional Ising model. Good agreement is found in all but one respect:— the change in the wavefunction-renormalization constant ẐR across the phase transition is significantly greater than predicted. A related observation is that propagator data in the broken phase show deviations from free-propagator form — deviations that become larger, not smaller, closer to the continuum limit.

متن کاملMagnetic Properties and Phase Transitions in a Spin-1 Random Transverse Ising Model on Simple Cubic Lattice
Within the effective-field theory with correlations (EFT), a transverse random field spin-1 Ising model on the simple cubic (z=6) lattice is studied. The phase diagrams, the behavior of critical points, transverse magnetization, internal energy, magnetic specific heat are obtained numerically and discussed for different values of p the concentration of the random transverse field.
متن کاملMagnetic Properties in a Spin-1 Random Transverse Ising Model on Square Lattice
In this paper we investigate the effect of a random transverse field, distributed according to a trimodal distribution, on the phase diagram and magnetic properties of a two-dimensional lattice (square with z=4), ferromagnetic Ising system consisting of magnetic atoms with spin-1. This study is done using the effectivefield theory (EFT) with correlations method. The equations are derived using...
متن کاملRepairing Stevenson’s step in the 4d Ising model
In a recent paper Stevenson claimed that analysis of the data on the wave function renormalization constant near the critical point of the 4d Ising model is not consistent with analytical expectations. Here we present data with improved statistics and show that the results are indeed consistent with conventional wisdom once one takes into account the uncertainty of lattice artifacts in the anal...
متن کاملMonte Carlo test of critical exponents and amplitudes in 3D Ising and λφ lattice models
We have tested the leading correction–to–scaling exponent ω in λφ model on a three–dimensional lattice by analysing the recent Monte Carlo (MC) data. We have found that the effective critical exponent, estimated at finite sizes of the system L and L/2, decreases substantially (by amount of 0.1) within the range of the simulated L values. This shows the incorrectness of some claims that ω has a ...
